How are the lanterns
made?
These garden lanterns
are made of sandcast aluminum. Sandcasting is a
process for casting metal in sand molds. The mold is made by packing the sand
around a pattern and is used only once. ItŐs an ancient form of casting and
quite time consuming but results in a high quality, handcrafted product.
How is the finish
applied?
The sandcast
lanterns are powder coated after assembly. Powdered paint is electrostatically
charged and sprayed onto the lanterns. To obtain the final abrasion resistant
coating, the powder coated items are placed in an oven and heated to
approximately 400F.
Can the lanterns be
electrified?
Customers have had the
lanterns wired for low voltage use. We donŐt offer this service, but a
qualified electrician can help you decide how best to proceed.

What is the best size
candle for the Harmony Light?

Are there any special
tips for using candles safely and effectively?
When lighting candles
that are to be used in an enclosed container like our lanterns and votives,
light the candle and leave the lid off for a few minutes. This allows the wick
to begin burning efficiently.
Keep wicks trimmed to
about ¼Ó.
Extinguish candles that
are smoking noticeably, when ½Ó of wax remains in the holder or if the
flame is burning too close to the side of the container.
DonŐt move a container
if the wax is still liquid.
