These
fixtures use halogen bulbs. Why?
Halogen
or tungsten-halogen is the lighting option of choice where high light quality
or precise light focusing is required. A halogen lamp is really a specialized
type of incandescent lamp, often featuring a parabolic aluminized reflector
(PAR) to improve light focus. Halogen lamps are more energy efficient than
standard incandescent lamps. We feel that halogen bulbs are the best choice for
desk lamps and reading lamps.
What
is mica?
Mica
is a mined mineral. We use traditional amber mica in our copper desk lamps.
Popular in mission style and craftsman style lighting, we've incorporated this
beautiful material into our contemporary copper lamps, suitable for any home or
office lighting application.
What
is cased glass?
Cased
glass (also known as overlay glass) refers to a process whereby two layers of
glass are fused together. Typically, cased glass shades are white on the inside
and green, purple or amber on the outside.
What
does 'infinitely adjustable' mean?
These
ingeniously designed copper lamps are counterweighted. Properly calibrated,
they will stay in any position without any mechanical assistance. There are no
screws to tighten or springs to loosen. In combination with a rotary dimmer and
halogen bulb, these lamps provide the finest task lighting available.
Where are these
lights made?
These lights are
designed and manufactured entirely in the US.
